Urinary Tract Infection
30 – 60 drops, 3 – 6 times a day.
Billberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) – Billberry contains the same anthocyanins as cranberry, a close relation. Safe to use during pregnancy as it helps with hemorrhoids, poor circulation, indigestion and urinary tract infections. It also reduces edema and is an anti-inflammatory.
Corn Silk (Zea mays) – Corn silk encourages urination. Its high level of potassium offsets the loss of potassium due to increased urination. Corn silk is a diuretic and is used for disorders in the liver, kidney, urinary tract and bladder.
Dandelion Root (Taraxacum off.radix) – Dandelion Root is a diuretic that releases urine retention during a bladder infection. It is also rich in potassium which replaces the loss of potassium with increased urination.
Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis)– Goldenseal is believed to be an effective herb to treat Urinary Tract Infections caused by bacterial overgrowth in the bladder’s interior walls. The berberine found in Goldenseal may prevent infection-causing bacteria from binding to urinary tract walls.
Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis) – Juniper berries are antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and are full of antioxidants which help the body by preventing diseases. Juniper berry contains essential oils like sabinene, limonene, and pinene, which have the power to eliminate bacteria, such as: Escherichia coli that can cause UTIs; Staphylococcus aureus that can cause infections of the lungs, skin, and bones; Hafnia alvei, part of the normal gut flora that can also cause infections like pneumonia, UTIs, and kidney infections as well as intestinal illnesses; Pseudomonas aeruginosa that can cause lung infections, ear infections, and UTIs. Juniper berry is a powerful diuretic, increasing urination and helping to clean out bacteria from the urethra.
Nettle Seeds (Urtica dioica) – Nettle is a great supporter of the kidneys and adrenal glands, they help to balance the body.
